Parowan Gap
  WATERCOLOR AND DIGITAL 2006
On a beautiful fall day I drove out to Parowan Gap and did a quick watercolor sketch. Back home in the studio I added a few digital layers, trying to keep the piece expressive and unstudied. The old joke around here is that if you are not a landscape painter when you move to the West, you will become one. You do feel the urge to capture the landscape in some way, in photos, with paint, with type, whatever is at hand. Besides, it's a good reason to go sit on a rock in the sun.
